Summary: Cars Commerce is dedicated to simplifying the car buying and selling process through innovative technology. The Tax Intern will support the tax, accounting, and finance teams with tax accounting, compliance, and process improvement initiatives. Responsibilities: - Assist with sales & use tax filings, including but not limited to implementation and utilization of new software to realize more efficiency in our current process - Work with the team and cross functionally on data requests related to compliance - Review Chicago personal property taxes paid and gather data necessary to file for refunds due to Company personnel no longer working within the Chicago city limits - Work closely with the tax team on various other projects including, but not limited to quarterly provision, sales and use tax, income tax, and unclaimed property Required Qualifications: - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team oriented environment and a desire to work on challenging projects - Interest in tax accounting and compliance - Hard working, organized, detail oriented and deadline driven - Working towards a Bachelor's degree in tax, accounting or related major Required Skills: Tax accounting, Tax compliance, Sales, use tax filings, Tax provision, Data analysis, Process improvement, Software utilization for tax processes, Deadline management Benefits: Medical, Dental & Vision Healthcare Plans, New Hire Stipend for Home Office Set-Up, Generous PTO, Paid Holidays, Floating Holiday, Volunteer Day, Recharge Day
