Intern, Tax at Cars Commerce in Greater Chicago Area

Summary: Cars Commerce is a company dedicated to simplifying car buying and selling through innovative technology solutions. They are seeking a Tax Intern to support the tax, accounting, and finance teams with various projects focused on tax accounting and compliance. Responsibilities: - Assist with sales & use tax filings, including but not limited to implementation and utilization of new software to realize more efficiency in our current process - Work with the team and cross functionally on data requests related to compliance - Review Chicago personal property taxes paid and gather data necessary to file for refunds due to Company personnel no longer working within the Chicago city limits - Work closely with the tax team on various other projects including, but not limited to quarterly provision, sales and use tax, income tax, and unclaimed property Required Qualifications: - Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team oriented environment and a desire to work on challenging projects - Interest in tax accounting and compliance - Hard working, organized, detail oriented and deadline driven - Working towards a Bachelor's degree in tax, accounting or related major Required Skills: Tax Accounting, Tax Compliance, Sales, Use Tax Filings, Tax Provision, Income Tax, Unclaimed Property, Data Analysis, Process Improvement, Software Utilization, Deadline Management Benefits: Medical, Dental & Vision Healthcare Plans, New Hire Stipend for Home Office Set-Up, Generous PTO, Paid Holidays, Floating Holiday, Volunteer Day, Recharge Day
