They are seeking a motivated college student to join their Commercial Airside New Product Development team as an intern, where the successful candidate will work on programming and optimizing selection software for new products. Responsibilities: - Apply software engineering principles to code parametric engineering designs - Analyze existing code to catch up on current software and systems - Documentation and maintenance of code over time - Utilize Agile methodologies for product development - Participate in continuous improvement activities including standard work, Kaizen and VSM events - Understand pre-existing Java code behind the current, highly configurable product offering to assist in code optimization efforts - Work with others on the engineering and software teams on the backend for the next generation cloud based front end for selection software - Develop test cases to validate Product Design and Software - Assist the maintenance and optimization of hardware infrastructure to support software optimization - Attend company functions, lunch and learns, and networking events - Shadow multiple office positions and train in a variety of tasks Required Qualifications: - Must be currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree program, majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering or any Engineering field - Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher - Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship Preferred Qualifications: - Proficiency in Java, XML Database - Proficiency in VBA, xQuery, JavaScript, RegEx, grep, awk, sed, SQL, DROOLS, Cloud computing, Agile mindset, Scrum experience - Knowledge of PTC's Pro/Engineer (Creo) and WindChill applications - Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications - Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills - Self-driven and proactive - Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities - Ability to communicate effectively at all levels - Team player and willing to collaborate with others on projects - Sheet metal, mechanical and electrical design experience - HVAC engineering/design/manufacturing experience - Highly organized with strong attention to detail, while managing multiple priorities Required Skills: Java, XML Database, VBA, xQuery, JavaScript, RegEx, grep, awk, sed, SQL, DROOLS, Cloud computing, Agile methodologies, Scrum, PTC Pro/Engineer (Creo), WindChill, Microsoft Office applications, Sheet metal design, Mechanical design, Electrical design, HVAC engineering, Analytical skills, Multitasking, Self-driven
