Job Description
Summary: Carrier is a global leader in intelligent climate and energy solutions, committed to creating innovations that enhance comfort, safety, and sustainability. The Health Safety Intern will assist in conducting safety audits, support incident investigations, and contribute to sustainability initiatives while collaborating with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in conducting safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments
- Support incident investigations and help identify root causes and corrective actions
- Help maintain and update safety data sheets (SDS) and chemical inventories
- Participate in environmental monitoring activities (e.g., water, waste)
- Assist in developing and delivering EHS training materials
- Contribute to sustainability initiatives and waste reduction programs
- Maintain EHS documentation and records in accordance with company policies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to promote a culture of safety
Required Qualifications:
- Must be currently pursuing a Bachelors or Master's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or any EH&S field
- Must have an overall GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Must be eligible to work in the US without sponsorship
Preferred Qualifications:
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Familiarity with OSHA, EPA, and other regulatory standards
- Experience with data analysis or reporting tools
- Previous internship or coursework related to EHS topics
