About the role

If you’ve been in the BAS world a while, you know the difference between a job that just keeps you busy and one that keeps you engaged, respected, and growing.

At Automated Logic, a Carrier Company, our technicians describe this as the place where they finally found both challenge and balance. A place that trusts your judgment, values your craftsmanship, and gives you the tools and autonomy to make an impact.

As a Lead Field Technician, you’ll be the expert voice on-site — leading complex commissioning, solving deep system problems, and shaping how buildings perform. You’ll mentor newer techs, partner with strong project teams, and be counted on to deliver the kind of precision work our customers remember.

Our long-tenured people put it simply:

“I finally found it. Not just a job. Not just a paycheck. A work home.”

If that sounds like what you’ve been looking for, we’d like to welcome you home too.

• Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical and integration issues across multiple platforms (WebCTRL®, Niagara, Schneider, Honeywell).
• Integrate third-party systems using BACnet, Modbus, or LonWorks.
• Configure controls, trends, alarms, and reports; manage secure network connections.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior technicians.
• Deliver customer training and ensure systems perform exactly as promised.

Required Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 4+ years of professional experience in Building Automation, HVAC, or a related technical field.
• Must possess a valid, current Driver’s License and be insurable by the company’s insurance carrier.
• Ability to lift items up to 50 lbs and perform physical tasks such as squatting and climbing for extended periods.
• Capable of working over 8 feet above grade and proficient in the use of ladders and motorized lift equipment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Leadership & Mentorship: Proven ability to act as a technical authority and mentor junior engineers in a collaborative field environment.
• Complex Project Delivery: Executes turnkey building automation solutions with minimal oversight, focusing on high-quality field execution and resource management.
• Advanced Integration & Networking: High skills-level proficiency in integrating diverse platforms and managing complex TCP/IP and wireless networking.
• System Troubleshooting: Advanced diagnostic skills for resolving high-level technical challenges in controls, sensors, and software.
