Job Description
Summary: CareDx, Inc. is a leading precision medicine solutions company focused on the discovery, development, and commercialization of clinically differentiated healthcare solutions for transplant patients. They are seeking motivated and enthusiastic CLIA Lab interns to gain hands-on experience in a cutting-edge diagnostic company, contributing to meaningful projects that impact patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Support the development and validation of new diagnostic assays
- Collaborate with team members on research and development projects
- Adhere to all safety and compliance protocols
- Assist in the pre-analytical phase, including sample receiving, unpackaging, accessioning, labeling, and nucleic acid extraction
- Observe and support analytical workflows such as PCR, qPCR, and NGS library preparation under supervision
- Help prepare reagents and maintain laboratory inventory
- Participate in quality control and quality assurance procedures following CLIA guidelines
- Aid in documentation, data entry, and review of laboratory logs and records
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with lab protocols
- Complete a final report or presentation summarizing skills learned and contributions to the lab
- Assist with continuous improvement and data analytics projects
Required Qualifications:
- Must be 17 years old or older
- Demonstrated academic or work experience [biology, biotechnology,] or a related field
- Basic understanding of laboratory techniques and procedures
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Currently pursuing a bachelor's degree in biology, biotechnology or related field. (Recent graduates from high school will be considered)
