About the Role
We are looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Worker to support the Team Leader/Care Manager in the day-to-day management of our care services. The successful candidate will play a key role in supervising staff, maintaining high standards of care, and ensuring that all service users receive safe, effective, and person-centred support.
This role requires strong leadership skills, excellent communication, and a commitment to delivering high-quality care.
Key Responsibilities
· Support the Team Leader/Care Manager in the daily operation and organisation of care services.
· Supervise healthcare staff to ensure high-quality care and professional standards are maintained.
· Identify knowledge gaps, competency issues, or poor practice and provide guidance and support to staff.
· Work in accordance with company policies, procedures, and current healthcare regulations.
· Participate in the on-call rota to support service delivery when required.
· Assist with the coordination and scheduling of care services.
· Provide regular updates and reports to the Team Leader/Care Manager.
· Attend and contribute to team meetings, supervisions, and service user reviews.
· Support the induction, shadowing, and mentoring of new staff members.
· Ensure all care records, reports, and documentation are completed accurately and maintained in line with organisational policies.
· Maintain accurate electronic and manual records.
· Ensure medication records are accurate, up to date, and compliant with relevant policies and procedures.
· Monitor and manage the ordering of care supplies, including medications and incontinence products.
· Liaise professionally with healthcare professionals, families, and external agencies.
· Provide assistance with the personal and physical care of service users when required, ensuring dignity, respect, and person-centred care. Ensure the health, safety, and wellbeing of service users and staff at all times.
What We’re Looking For
· Knowledge of healthcare regulations and care standards.
· Knowledge of care planning, medication management and safeguarding procedures
· Have an excellent level of written and spoken communication in English and interpersonal skills.
· Must be a driver with own use of vehicle.
· Must be conversant with Microsoft office packages and emails.
· Must be able to work well within a team environment and be professional at all times.
· Have experience in the care sector – a minimum of 12 months.
· To be able to organise and time manage effectively.
· Be reliable and flexible.
· Have a high attention to detail.
· Work on your own initiative.
· To have good mentorship skills.
· Minimum Level 3 in Health and Social care or working towards achieving.
· Be able to deal with emergencies and difficult situations whilst displaying empathy, understanding and respect.
· Right to Work in the UK
· Valid Enhanced DBS

Hours
· 37.5 hrs Full Time/Permanent (Set pattern of work over a four week rota) £14.20 per hour
