What Customer Service Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Customer Service is responsible for establishing, maintaining and enhancing customer business through contract administration, customer orders, and problem resolution.
Customer Service Operations is responsible for providing outsourced services to customers relating to medical billing, medical reimbursement, and/or other services by acting as a liaison in problem-solving, research and problem/dispute resolution
Job Summary
The Representative II, Customer Service Operations processes orders for distribution centers and other internal customers in accordance to scheduling, demand planning and inventory. The Representative II administers orders in internal systems and responds to customer questions, clearly communicating delays, issues and resolutions. This job also processes non-routine orders, such as product samples, and ensures that special requirements are included in an order.
Responsibilities
- Represent the organization to pharmacies and PAPs to gather necessary information, via outbound calls, related to prescriptions and tracking.
- Familiarity with essential data systems, including EPIC and MedData.
- Conduct customer outreach through phone calls, providing excellent and frictionless customer service.
- Ensure daily reminders for pharmacy locations and one-off projects are completed promptly.
- Maintain security and confidentiality of all patient information.
- Identify and track customer pain points to improve service delivery.
- Uphold department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), and departmental goals.
- Attend and actively engage in daily team huddles and cross-departmental meetings.
- Apply basic concepts, principles, and technical capabilities to perform routine tasks and structured work assignments.
- Work on projects of limited scope and complexity, following established procedures to resolve issues.
- Contribute to a dynamic, fast-paced environment, adapting to the fluctuating healthcare landscape and new ideas.
- Participate in and volunteer for stretch projects, performing tasks outside of daily roles when needed.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent work experience preferred
- 1-3+ years of work experience in customer service or pharmacy operations, preferred
- Prior experience with low-income/special needs populations, social programs, or charitable organizations is preferred
- Basic knowledge of various medications, medication classes, medical ailments, and standard treatments is a strong plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office systems (Excel, Word, Outlook) is required
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including excellent listening skills and a professional telephone presence/etiquette
- Confident, articulate, and professional speaking abilities
- Above-average organizational skills, detail-oriented, and multi-task oriented with strong follow-up skills
- Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and solve problems effectively
- Possess a strong work ethic, team player mentality, and a pleasant, patient, and friendly attitude
- Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines in a high-volume environment
- Ability to sit at a computer workstation for extended periods, involving a high volume of writing, typing/data-entry, and frequent verbal communication via telephone

Anticipated hourly range: $18.70-26.80 per hour
