Job Description
Summary: Capco is a consulting firm focused on financial services and innovation. They are seeking an Actuarial Data Consultant to combine actuarial expertise with modern data and technology to enhance actuarial processes and deliver scalable solutions for clients in the insurance sector.
Responsibilities:
- Apply actuarial knowledge to design and support structured data and ontological models for actuarial processes
- Collaborate with data specialists to translate actuarial workflows into scalable technical solutions
- Analyze insurance datasets to support modeling, forecasting, and process improvement
- Support data transformation, validation, and ingestion across actuarial systems
- Partner with cross-functional teams to align actuarial requirements with business and technical solutions
Required Qualifications:
- 1–3 years of experience in actuarial, data science, or analytical roles within insurance or financial services
- Progress toward actuarial credentials with at least 2 exams completed (e.g., P, FM, SRM)
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Computer Science, or related field
- Working knowledge of Python or R for data analysis and modeling
- Strong analytical thinking and ability to communicate technical concepts to varied audiences
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with large-scale data transformation or data modeling initiatives
- Exposure to graph-based data models, ontologies, or knowledge graphs
- Familiarity with actuarial systems, processes, or regulatory frameworks
- Interest in applying actuarial expertise to modern data and AI-driven solutions
- Experience working in collaborative, cross-functional environments
