Job Description
Summary: Canon, U.S.A., Inc. is currently hiring for their 2026 Canon Insights Internship Program. The QA Automation Engineer Intern will gain hands-on experience in building scalable automation and developing test frameworks while collaborating with QA, Dev, and DevOps teams.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in designing, building, and executing AI‑augmented automated test suites across both UI and API layers
- Leverage AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Gemini, etc.) to generate test cases, improve automation logic, create test data, and analyze failures
- Develop and maintain automation scripts and lightweight frameworks using Selenium, Playwright, and REST API tools such as Postman or ReadyAPI
- Participate in SDET‑focused activities such as framework enhancements, reusable utilities, modular test design, and code reviews
- Assist in debugging by reviewing application logs, stack traces, and AI‑generated insights to identify root causes
- Collaborate with QA, Dev, and DevOps teams to expand automation coverage, integrate suites into CI/CD pipelines, and improve regression reliability
Required Qualifications:
- An enrolled undergraduate student who is currently a junior and entering their senior year as of Summer 2026, pursuing a Bachelor's degree aligned with the department of interest
- A strong communicator—both written and verbal—with advanced proficiency in Google Workspace (Sheets, Docs, Slides, Chat, Calendar and Drive)
- Brings the ability to thrive as a collaborative team player while also working independently with confidence and enthusiasm
- Current student majoring in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field
- Basic programming skills in Python, Java, or JavaScript, with an interest in software engineering practices
- Familiarity with UI automation frameworks (Selenium, Cypress, Playwright) and REST API concepts
- Comfort using AI tools to accelerate scripting, defect triage, code generation, and test planning
- Strong analytical thinking, willingness to learn deeper SDET skills (framework design, coding best practices), and a high attention to detail
