About the Role
CanKids KidsCan is looking for an experienced Education Officer to manage and implement educational interventions for children undergoing cancer treatment through the CanShala – School in a Hospital model.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage day-to-day operations of CanShala centres in Maharashtra.
- Implement educational interventions, assessments, PEP/IEP plans and track student progress.
- Ensure U-DISE registration and facilitate children’s reintegration into formal schools.
- Coordinate with teachers, parents, social workers, schools and other stakeholders.
- Conduct teacher, parent and community awareness/training workshops.
- Monitor attendance, learning outcomes, scholarships and academic progression.
- Develop educational resources and customized learning materials.
- Build partnerships with schools, NGOs and education stakeholders.
- Maintain student records, reports and impact documentation.
- Visit CanShala centres, hospitals and partner schools as required.
Required Skills
- Strong experience in Education Management / School Management / Project Management / Remedial Education / Special Education.
- Experience in teacher training and community workshops.
- Strong communication, coordination and stakeholder-management skills.
- Experience working with children in difficult or vulnerable circumstances will be an advantage.
- Strong documentation, reporting and data-tracking skills.
- Willingness to travel across Maharashtra.
Preferred Profile
Candidates with 5–10 years of relevant experience in education management, school programs, child-focused projects, special education, remedial learning or similar roles are encouraged to apply.
