The EE/Vision Systems Intern will contribute to R&D by assisting in the development, testing, and analysis of camera and sensor electronic/optical sub-systems while working closely with experienced engineers. Responsibilities: - Assist in development, testing, and analysis of camera & sensor electronic/optical sub-systems - Partner with an engineer to design, prototype and evaluate electronic/optical sub-systems and test fixtures - Perform optical and electronic bench testing, debugging and data analysis - Perform root-cause analysis for prototype and production device failure modes - Prepare design documentation, test protocols and reports - Perform other duties as required Required Qualifications: - Undergraduate (current junior/senior) or graduate student pursuing a BS or advanced degree in electrical engineering, biomedical engineering or optical engineering - Minimum 2 years experience in analog and digital circuit design and debug - Work location: Pleasanton, CA - Travel: 0% - Full time employment - Ability to read and understand PCBA schematics/drawings/BOMs and electronic component datasheets - Proficiency with Python for data analysis and measurement automation - Hands on laboratory electronics skills including soldering, cable harness assembly, and operation of test equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies) - Experience in one or more of the following areas: optical component/system design & characterization, image signal processing algorithms, image sensor hardware electronics - Ability to work in a Linux environment - Strong attention to detail - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Eagerness to learn and accept challenges - Ability to solve problems and analyze data - Ability to think and work independently and in teams - Compliance with relevant county, state, and Federal rules regarding vaccinations - Legal authorization to work in the United States is required Preferred Qualifications: - Prior internships or co-terms in the medical device industry, or structured coursework focused on medical device development Required Skills: Electrical Engineering, Analog Circuit Design, Digital Circuit Design Important Skills: Python, Optical System Design, Linux Environment, Laboratory Electronics Skills Nice-to-Have Skills: Attention to Detail, Communication Skills, Problem Solving, Teamwork
