Job Description
Summary: Caltrans is the California Department of Transportation, dedicated to improving lives and communities through transportation. They are seeking an Information Technology Specialist I to serve as Lead Systems Administrator, supporting the Service Desk and IT Asset Management in the District 8 Office.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborates with management and provides leadership for the administrative and technical support for the Local Area Network, servers, printers, computers, laptops, tablets, mobile devices and telecommunications services
- Performs complex activities of the System Development Life-cycle which includes systems: analysis, design, build, test, maintenance and operations
- Provides lead support for all phases of end user device life cycle management including procurement, deployment, installation, configuration, maintenance and operations, and surplus
- Provides end user training in the configuration and use of client technologies
- Collaborates with peers and management to update and recommend standards, processes and procedures, and technology practices
- Tracks, monitors, and audits IT assets to maintain accountability using standard asset management tools and techniques in compliance with the State Administrative Manual and other applicable policies and regulations
- Performs functions including, but are not limited to, researching, writing, reporting, presenting, etc
- Administers the IT Service Management system for District 8 providing system analysis, support and trains other analysts on functionality, policy and procedures
- Providing lead support to Information technology
Required Qualifications:
- Possession of a valid driver's license is required when operating a state owned or leased vehicle
- Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) required
