Software Engineering Intern, Cloud Architecture at Calix in Remote

Summary: Calix is looking for a Software Engineering Intern to join their Products organization for the Summer. In this role, you will contribute to innovative projects in cloud development and AI agents, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and optimize cloud-based solutions and AI-driven systems. Responsibilities: - Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and develop cloud-based solutions and AI-driven systems - Implement and optimize software components for scalability and performance within intelligent platforms - Participate in code reviews, testing, and debugging to ensure high-quality deliverables - Research and integrate emerging technologies relevant to cloud computing and artificial intelligence - Communicate progress and challenges effectively with mentors and team members - Document technical designs, implementation steps, and project outcomes Required Qualifications: - Currently enrolled in a college degree program in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field - Preference will be given to those who have at least completed their Junior year and have previous internship or work experience - Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Java, C++, or similar - Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (e.g., Google Cloud) and basic understanding of artificial intelligence concepts - Detail oriented - Strong communication skills - Able to work for the complete summer break (May - August or June - September) Required Skills: Python, Cloud computing, Artificial intelligence Important Skills: Java, C++
