Job Description
Summary: California Correctional Health Care Services is seeking an Office Technician (Typing) to support the Office of Tax Appeals. The role involves performing clerical functions, document management, and administrative tasks to assist the Case Management Division.
Responsibilities:
- Perform a wide range of the most difficult clerical functions in support of the division
- Provides document management and support services
- Mail distribution
- Various administrative services tasks for division staff
Required Qualifications:
- You are required to submit a Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) for this position
- The position(s) require(s) the ability to type at a minimum speed as designated on the Class Specifications
- You must obtain a valid typing certificate confirming your ability to meet the minimum typing speed, prior to being hired
- In order to be considered for this position, you must include JC 527774 in the 'Examination or Job Title' section of the State application (STD.678) when submitting a hardcopy application
- A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) is a narrative discussion addressing the questions listed below
- Applicants who do not submit a SOQ or not answer the question will not be considered for the interview process
- Electronic submittal of applications and documents thru Calcareers.ca.gov is preferred
- Completed applications and all required documents must be received or postmarked by the Final Filing Date in order to be considered
- Applicants must meet the Minimum Qualifications stated in the Classification Specification(s)
- Individuals who are currently in the classification, eligible for lateral transfer, eligible for reinstatement, have list or LEAP eligibility, are in the process of obtaining list eligibility, or have SROA and/or Surplus eligibility (please attach your letter, if available)
- Applications will be screened and only the most qualified applicants will be selected to move forward in the selection process
- Applicants must complete the duties performed section on the application
- Applications with 'see resume' shall not be considered
- Applications received without all information completed will be considered incomplete and will not be screened for the interview process
Preferred Qualifications:
- Highly motivated individual who enjoys challenges and working in a fast paced, professional environment
- Experience working within the administrative functions of a busy office
- Experience providing effective customer service as well as building and maintaining trusted relationships with coworkers, management, and the public
- Ability to type at a minimum speed of 45 words per minute
- Ability to follow detailed and specific instructions
- Excellent organizational skills
- Ability to communicate (verbal/written) clearly, concisely and accurately
- Demonstrate ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
- Ability to adapt to change quickly and to work under pressure, prioritize work and meet deadlines
- Experience with MS Word, Excel, Adobe software programs
- Experience utilizing Salesforce
- Perform difficult clerical work including the ability to process a large variety of documents
