Complex care PA/Carer

Part time or Full time hours position available.

Immediate start.

Minimum of 22-33 hrs/wk (additional hours available once trained)

MUST BE AVAILABLE TO WORK LONG DAYS (06.00-17.30) AND WAKING NIGHTS ON A ROTA BASIS (including weekends, Bank holidays etc)

Our family is looking for new team members who are dedicated, compassionate, caring and flexible to join our immediately to support our 18 year old daughter. She is a bright, determined and able young person who is living with a medical condition that requires close monitoring but minimal intervention. She is active, funny and lives life to the full. This is a chance to use your skills and make a real difference to our daughter’s life to allow her to continue to thrive and succeed.

This role involves providing communication, care, guidance and medical assistance/intervention. Full supervised training provided. You will be required to support at home, college, social activities, holidays abroad and much more either 1:1 or 2:1. Experience of working in a similar role is essential to join our team.

Essential-

• Complex care medical experience eg gastrostomy, tracheostomy ventilation etc
• Willingness to study British Sign Language qualifications (paid ongoing BSL qualifications available whilst working with us)
• Must drive age 25 and above, with no convictions etc and be willing to drive mobility vehicle
• Availability to travel on holiday with our family (1-3 weeks per year)
• Compassion, patience and empathy

In addition to clinical skills we need you to use British Sign Language as daughter is a Deaf British Sign Language user. Full accredited British Sign Language training is provided and funded whilst working with us.

Tasks include but not limited to;

Gastrostomy

Medication Management

Nebuliser, ventilation, Oxygen/Saturation Monitoring

Tracheostomy care.
