Data Analyst Co-op/Intern at CAE in Tampa

Summary: CAE is a leader in simulation and training solutions, dedicated to enhancing safety and readiness in defense and civil aviation. The Data Analyst Co-op will support various programs by gathering and analyzing data to improve decision-making and business performance, while also creating visualizations to communicate insights effectively. Responsibilities: - Provide on-going support to programs, departments, IT, and management with data activities - Facilitate understanding, buy-in, and solution development for data activities - Synthesize data requests from internal and external customers to plan and execute data initiatives throughout the organization - Excellent written and verbal communication skills required - Must be able to communicate technical concepts effectively to all levels of the organization - Understand the links between data, processes, systems, and people, including the full lifecycle of data creation, data quality, data analysis, visualizations and reporting - Create dashboards and data visualizations for internal and external customers - Assess data quality, correlation, and analyze and interpret trends or patterns in large, complex datasets - Perform trend analysis and identify core driving data items for the assigned area - Serve as the data‑and process‑model verification tester for models created by the Data Scientist, validating the model’s representation of target processes Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree (Junior or Senior standing) or a Master's degree in Mathematics, Data Analytics, Economics, Computer Science, Statistics, Business, or a related field - No prior industry experience required - Excellent written and verbal communication skills required - Must be able to communicate technical concepts effectively to all levels of the organization - Understand the links between data, processes, systems, and people, including the full lifecycle of data creation, data quality, data analysis, visualizations and reporting - Able to code, perform unit testing, handle errors, and manage version control (SQL, Python, R, VBA, Power Query, and Git) - Must have excellent communication and presentation skills - Must be proficient with Microsoft Office products - Must be able to learn quickly, think critically, solve problems, and document solutions - Must be able to work with minimal supervision and be highly adaptable - Must comply with all company security and data protection / usage policies and procedures - Incumbent must be eligible for DoD Personal Security Clearance - Due to U.S. Government contract requirements, only U.S. citizens are eligible for this role Preferred Qualifications: - Prior externships or job‑shadowing experiences in similar fields are desirable but not required - Familiarity with business and statistical concepts (descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, regression analysis, KPI, OKR) - Familiarity with overall data concepts (data warehouses, ETL, modeling, cloud, security, and compliance) - Familiarity with business‑intelligence platforms such as Power BI, Tableau, or Domo.
