Job Description
Summary: Cadence is a company that hires and develops leaders and innovators who want to make an impact on the world of technology. The circuit simulation intern will assist in developing new algorithms and software for the Spectre FX circuit simulator, and will engage in various tasks including software validation and testing.
Responsibilities:
- Assist R&D staff in developing new algorithms and software for the Spectre FX circuit simulator
- Hands-on experience in researching new algorithmic approaches
- Software engineering to implement new features
- Performing software validation and testing
- Investigating performance/accuracy issues in the simulator
Required Qualifications:
- Previous exposure to the circuit simulation area
- Experience in EDA-relevant software development, particularly C/C++ unix development
- Background in one or more of numerical techniques for VLSI circuit simulation or related general numerical simulation algorithms (numerical linear algebra, computational electromagnetics, parallel numerical algorithms)
- EDA algorithms based on graph theory
- Software optimization
- Candidate for an advanced degree in electrical engineering, computer science, or related field
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of analog/memory/custom IC design and verification practices
Required Skills: C/C++ development, EDA software development, circuit simulation
Important Skills: numerical techniques, software optimization
Nice-to-Have Skills: analog IC design, memory IC design, custom IC design, graph theory algorithms
