Job Description
Summary: BWC Terminals is a premier provider of bulk liquid storage and logistics services headquartered in Houston, Texas. They are seeking a Legal Intern to support various business-focused projects, engage with leadership, and assist in legal research and compliance tasks.
Responsibilities:
- Understands the overall concept of the company, including the brand, customer, product goals, and all other aspects of service
- Rotates through our divisions of responsibility and provides ideas to grow and improve the business
- Accepts designated, business-focus projects to research, propose ideas and solutions, and present final project during the internship
- Engages with leadership and provides support
- Provide suggestions to management for improving internal processes
- Learns and becomes knowledgeable on internal software systems
- Assists in creating reports as directed by management
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in Undergraduate degree program
- Detail-oriented student with strong research, writing, and analytical skills, sound judgment, and a professional, business-minded approach
- Ability to assist with contract review, legal research, compliance projects, document management, and preparation of internal summaries and presentations
- The ideal candidate is organized, responsive, able to manage multiple assignments, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment while handling sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- A successful intern will also bring curiosity, initiative, and a genuine interest in how legal guidance supports business strategy and day-to-day operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
Preferred Qualifications:
- Coursework or interest in contract law, corporate law, employment law, compliance, data privacy, intellectual property, or other areas relevant to an in-house legal department is a plus
- Experience with legal research tools, document management systems, and contract review processes are preferred
