AI + .NET Full Stack Developer… at Brxio Software · Hybrid…
Job Description
Job Overview
We're looking for a senior, hands-on .NET Full Stack Developer to lead three concurrent modernization initiatives: enterprise source control migration, a SharePoint-to-GCC cloud migration with AI-powered search, and legacy application refactoring. This is not a maintenance role — you will be designing the target architecture, not just executing a checklist.
Location: This role requires regular onsite/hybrid presence with client teams and secure environments. Candidates must currently reside in, or be immediately willing to relocate at their own expense to, one of the following metro areas: New York City, Boston, Washington DC, Chicago, Los Angeles, or San Francisco. Remote-only applicants will not be deprioritized.
What You'll Actually Own
1. Source Control Modernization: TFS → GitHub You will not simply move repositories. You will design and document the target GitHub architecture from scratch: repo structure and ownership model, branching strategy, environment promotion flow, CODEOWNERS and required-reviewer policy, secrets management, and CI/CD pipeline design. Deliverable: a written architecture and migration runbook another engineer could execute from.
2. SharePoint → GCC Cloud Migration Migrate SharePoint content and permissions into a Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Government / Government Commercial Cloud (GCC / Assured Workloads)., correctly handling the security model differences, permission inheritance quirks, and compliance boundaries that don't exist in commercial M365. You will also evaluate and implement an AI-powered search layer (e.g., Copilot/Graph-based semantic search, Azure AI Search, or equivalent) to replace native SharePoint search — this is a stated priority, not a stretch goal:
- Lead content, data, and workflow migrations from legacy SharePoint environments into Google Cloud Platform (GCP) Government / Government Commercial Cloud (GCC / Assured Workloads).
- Navigate strict government security boundaries, IAM, compliance controls (FedRAMP/NIST), and GCP storage architectures.
- Implement AI Search: Replace default legacy SharePoint search with advanced AI-driven cognitive search using Google Vertex AI Search / Enterprise Search (vector search, semantic query processing, and RAG architectures).
3. Legacy Application Refactoring
- Unpack, analyze, and refactor complex legacy monoliths written in older .NET Frameworks (Web Forms, WCF, MVC) and legacy VB code (VB.NET / VB6).
- Re-architect legacy logic into modular, high-performance modern .NET (NET 8+) APIs with React frontends.
Responsibilities
To be direct: this role is scoped for someone who has actually done this work before, not someone who can describe it. Applications lacking verifiable specifics below will not be considered.
- 7+ years professional full stack development experience, including 3+ years with React (or a comparable modern SPA framework) paired with a .NET backend
- Demonstrated, describable experience with at least one enterprise source-control migration (TFS/SVN/other → Git-based platform) where you owned the target repo/branching architecture — not just ran the migration tool
- Hands-on experience with Microsoft 365 GCC or GCC High, including its security/compliance differences from commercial M365 (you should be able to speak to specific differences unprompted)
- Working experience with at least one AI-powered enterprise search implementation (Azure AI Search, Copilot/Graph connectors, or similar)
- Direct experience reading, maintaining, or migrating VB.NET or classic ASP.NET/WebForms code — this is a required skill, not a preference
- Strong SQL Server skills (schema design, performance tuning, migration scripting)
- Must be prepared to complete a technical assessment: a scoped architecture and a live technical discussion where you walk through actual reasoning on a comparable migration/refactor scenario. This is how we verify hands-on depth — resume claims alone won't move you forward.
Nice to Have
- Experience with Boomi or another iPaaS platform
- Prior consulting/professional-services background across multiple concurrent clients
- Familiarity with legal, financial services, or another regulated industry's compliance constraints
Pay: $100,000.00 - $145,000.00 per year
Application Question(s):
- What specific challenge have you faced when migrating legacy TFC version control history to GitHub Git repositories, and how did you resolve it?
- Describe one migration or refactor you personally architected — what was the before/after, and what tradeoff did you make that someone without hands-on experience wouldn't know to make?
- What's one concrete difference between SharePoint permissions in commercial M365 vs. GCC that has bitten you or a team you worked with?

Experience:
- .NET: 8 years (Preferred)
- SharePoint: 7 years (Preferred)
- CI/CD: 6 years (Preferred)
Ability to Commute:
