Broadridge is hiring! We’re seeking an Operations Lead Engineer to lead 24x7 operational support for enterprise‑grade, secure file transfer platforms. This role provides technical leadership, operational governance, and escalation management across on‑premise and cloud MFT environments. The Lead Engineer ensures platform stability, drives continuous operational improvements, mentors junior team members, and acts as the primary interface between operations, engineering, vendors, and business stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
Operational Leadership & Support
Lead and oversee 24x7 operational support for file transfer platforms utilizing SFTP, FTPS, FTP, HTTPS, Connect:Direct, and PGP encryption.
Serve as the primary escalation point for complex MFT incidents and production issues.
Provide expert‑level operational support for:
IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG)
Sterling B2B Integrator (B2Bi)
IBM Connect:Direct (on‑premise and AWS)
AXWAY MFT platforms
Coordinate and manage major incidents, ensuring timely resolution, stakeholder communication, and post‑incident reviews.
Monitoring, Stability & Continuous Improvement
Oversee proactive monitoring of file transfers using enterprise monitoring and automation tools in a 24x7 environment.
Define, review, and enforce daily environment health checks, including:
MFT application availability and performance
Disk space, file system utilization, and queue/backlog thresholds
Service status, partner connectivity, and network dependencies
Analyze recurring incidents and trends; work closely with L3/engineering teams to drive root cause analysis, permanent fixes, and platform stability improvements.
Identify automation opportunities and operational efficiencies to reduce manual intervention and incident volume.
Technical Expertise & Troubleshooting
Lead advanced troubleshooting for MFT transmission failures, performance issues, and partner connectivity problems.
Review and troubleshoot PERL scripts, UNIX shell scripts, and Windows batch/PowerShell scripts used in operational workflows (no development required).
Provide guidance on B2Bi business processes, workflows, and transmission logic.
Client, Stakeholder & Team Engagement
Act as a key point of contact for external clients during critical production transmission issues, ensuring clear, timely, and professional communication.
Collaborate with engineering, security, infrastructure, and vendor teams to align operational needs with platform enhancements.
Mentor and guide junior operations engineers; provide knowledge transfer, operational best practices, and technical coaching.
Governance, Reporting & Documentation
Lead incident, problem, and change management activities, ensuring adherence to ITIL/ITSM processes.
Own and maintain operational documentation, SOPs, runbooks, and escalation procedures.
Design, review, and maintain operational dashboards and reports for monitoring, SLA compliance, capacity planning, and trend analysis.
Participate in on‑call rotations, including out‑of‑office hours and weekend support, while ensuring proper coverage and escalation paths.
Qualifications:
5+ years of experience supporting Managed File Transfer (MFT) solutions, with at least 1–2 years in a senior or lead operational role.
Strong hands‑on experience with:
IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG)
Sterling B2B Integrator (B2Bi)
IBM Connect:Direct
Sterling Secure Proxy (SSP)
Sterling External Authentication Server (SEAS)
Sterling Control Center
AXWAY MFT
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex B2Bi business processes and end‑to‑end transmission workflows.
Experience supporting 24x7 mission‑critical platforms in enterprise environments.
Strong working knowledge of UNIX/Linux and Windows operating systems.
Solid understanding of MFT security concepts including certificates, encryption, authentication, key management, and cipher configurations.
Demonstrated ability to analyze logs, identify root causes, implement workarounds, and drive permanent resolutions.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, including interaction with clients, vendors, and cross‑functional teams.
Strong organizational and prioritization skills with the ability to manage multiple high‑severity incidents concurrently.
Preferred (Nice to Have)
Experience supporting MFT platforms in AWS or hybrid cloud environments.
Familiarity with ITSM tools such as ServiceNow or Remedy.
Experience designing or maintaining operational dashboards using tools such as Sterling Control Center, Datadog, Splunk, or similar platforms.
Exposure to automation, scripting optimization, or SRE/DevOps operational practices.
Compensation Range: The salary range for this position is between $130,000 - $140,000. Broadridge considers various factors when evaluating a candidate's final salary including, but not limited to, relevant experience, skills, and education.
