Location: BMI New York Duration: Summer 2026 / June 1 – July 30, 2026 Department: International Work Environment: This position is a hybrid role with expectations for 3 days onsite and 1 day remote. POSITION SUMMARY: The intern will assist the International department in identifying growth trends and researching possible new revenue sources. The intern will learn how BMI interacts with the global performing rights community and assist the department in identifying and securing revenue.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Independent online research Learn BMI systems that provide reporting data to and from societies and build reports Assist with data entry of distribution recap details Assist in the live concert claims process and learn the systems required to fulfill the task Daily reporting to the program supervisor Participate in the BMI Internship Program group project Regular attendance. Other duties as assigned. Support our BMI Core Values and cultivate a culture of diversity and inclusion.
POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Must be enrolled in an accredited college or university as an undergraduate student. Must return to school in the Fall of 2026. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or above.
Skills and Abilities:
High proficiency in Microsoft Office and internet research Detail oriented and organized Strong time management and communication skills Quick learner; self-starter Confidentiality – show understanding that sensitive information should not be discussed or shared outside of the department. Preferred areas of study or interests: History/Political Science/Economics; Foreign Language; International Studies; Business Administration; Communications; Data Analytics
