Responsibilities
As a RN Clinical Supervisor You will:
- Review new patient referrals and determine care needs; assign appropriate hospice staff.
- Support and guide clinical staff through home visits, case reviews, and real-time consultations.
- Help develop patient care plans, set treatment goals, and prioritize care.
- Lead and participate in team case conferences to ensure coordinated, holistic care.
- Conduct regular chart audits and provide feedback for quality improvement.
- Participate in hiring, onboarding, and training of clinical team members.
- Support staff development and continuing education programs.
- Assist in policy development and uphold professional care standards.
- Engage in community outreach and promote the hospice’s mission and services.
- Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and organizational goals.
Qualifications
| • | Registered Nurse with current, unencumbered licensure to practice professional nursing in the state of operation. | |
| • | Graduate of an accredited school of nursing; BSN preferred. | |
| • | Previous experience in hospice or home care setting required. | |
| • | Minimum of two (2) years of management or supervisory experience preferred. |
| • | Current CPR certification, maintained in accordance with organizational policy. | |
| • | Must be a licensed driver with an automobile that is insured per state and/or organizational requirements and is in good working order. |
| • | Proven ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team setting. | |
| • | Demonstrates excellent observation, nursing judgment, and communication skills—both verbal and written. | |
| • | Understands the hospice philosophy and the emotional, clinical, and ethical considerations surrounding end-of-life care. | |
| • | Knowledge of pain and symptom management principles. | |
| • | Adheres to accepted professional standards and practices. | |
| • | Commitment to clinical excellence and thorough documentation. |
