Job Summary:
The Vice President (VP) of Data and Artificial Intelligence (AI) leads the enterprise strategy for data, analytics, and AI to drive business transformation and innovation. This role is responsible for defining and executing a unified data and AI vision, ensuring that enterprise data assets are governed, integrated, and leveraged to deliver actionable insights and intelligent capabilities across the organization. The VP will oversee Data Engineering, Analytics, and AI functions, aligning technical capabilities with strategic business objectives. A primary focus of this role will be building enterprise data and AI capabilities that extend beyond third-party platform-native functionality, including EHR systems. This includes enabling cross-system intelligence, integrating data across clinical, operational, and financial domains, and delivering AI-driven solutions that enhance decision-making and organizational effectiveness. This role will own the enterprise data platform (e.g., Snowflake) as the central layer for analytics and AI, and will drive the development of scalable, production-ready solutions leveraging modern AI technologies, including large language models (LLMs).
Essential Job Functions:
Define and execute the enterprise data and AI strategy aligned with organizational goals.
Lead Data Engineering, Analytics, and AI teams, ensuring alignment across functions and priorities.
Own and evolve the enterprise data platform (e.g., Snowflake) as the centralized layer for integrated, analytics-ready, and AI-enabled data.
Develop enterprise data and AI capabilities that extend beyond third-party platform-native functionality, including EHR systems.
Build cross-system data products that unify clinical, operational, financial, and external data sources for advanced analytics and AI use cases.
Drive adoption of AI and LLM capabilities to enable natural language interaction, intelligent automation, and enhanced decision support.
Identify and prioritize high-impact opportunities where enterprise-owned AI capabilities create differentiated value.
Oversee the development and deployment of scalable AI solutions, ensuring successful transition from prototype to production.
Establish architectural standards, best practices, and operating models for data and AI across the organization.
Ensure data governance, security, privacy, and compliance across all data and AI initiatives.
Partner with clinical IT and EHR teams to align on data integration strategies, avoid duplication, and maximize the value of vendor platforms.
Evaluate emerging technologies and guide adoption decisions to maintain competitive advantage.
Build and mentor high-performing teams, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous learning.
Manage budgets, vendor relationships, and resource planning for data and AI initiatives.
Communicate strategy, progress, and outcomes to executive stakeholders and the broader organization.
Function in accordance with operational guidelines and professional ethics.
Participate in staff development activities.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Deep understanding of modern data architectures, including data warehouses, lakehouses, and cloud platforms.
Strong knowledge of AI/ML and LLM technologies and their application in enterprise environments.
Experience building data platforms that integrate across multiple systems, including third-party and vendor-managed applications.
Proven ability to identify and deliver high-value AI and analytics use cases outside of vendor-native capabilities.
Expertise in data governance, security, and regulatory compliance.
Strong leadership and organizational management skills.
Ability to balance strategic vision with execution and operational excellence.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence executive stakeholders.
Strong financial and business acumen.
Experience building and scaling high-performing technical teams.
Ability to drive cross-functional alignment in complex environments.
Experience and Education Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree required; Master’s or MBA preferred in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or related field.
10+ years of experience in data, analytics, engineering, or AI roles.
5+ years of leadership experience managing teams and enterprise-scale initiatives.
Demonstrated success leading data and AI strategy in a complex organization.
Experience implementing AI/LLM-driven solutions in production environments.
Experience with modern cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
Experience with Snowflake or similar enterprise data platforms preferred.
Healthcare or regulated industry experience preferred but not required.

Employment Requirements:
Successful completion of background check including criminal record, driving record, abuse/neglect, and fingerprint check.
Completion of New Hire Orientation at the beginning of employment.
All training requirements including Relias at the beginning of employment and annually thereafter.
Current driver’s license, acceptable driving record and current auto insurance.
Physical Requirements:
ADA Consideration - Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally (exists up the 1/3 of the time) and/or a negligible amount of force frequently (exists 1/3 to 2/3 of the time) to lift, carry, push, or pull, or otherwise move objects, including the human body.
