Job Description
Summary: BRIC Arts & Media is a leading arts and media institution in Downtown Brooklyn. The Production Intern will support the production team for the BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! Festival, contributing to high-level production values and enhancing the experience for artists and audiences.
Responsibilities:
- Work directly with the Stage Manager, Production Supervisor, Technical Director, Lighting Director, Audio Engineers and other staff
- Assist, coordinate and implement audio, lighting, video and staging technical needs
- Assist in the operation of production (audio/lighting/video) equipment during shows
- Specific department assignments based on experience and preference
Required Qualifications:
- Ability to lift up to 20 pounds
- Willingness to work outdoors, early mornings, late nights, long days, and weekend shifts, and to work in inclement weather
- A passion for BRIC's support of the arts in Brooklyn and a deep commitment to building community, igniting learning and making change through the arts and creativity
- Candidates must be reliable, committed, willing to work the entire summer production schedule, self-motivated, and possess strong interpersonal skills
Preferred Qualifications:
- Rising college senior or recent graduate from a theater/entertainment technology program preferred
- Some experience working in production for live events is preferred
- Brings experience operationalizing equity within the Performing Arts and or Hospitality function
