Job Description
Summary: Bremer Whyte Brown & O'Meara, LLP is a reputable mid-sized law firm recognized for its excellence in legal services. They are seeking a Litigation Associate to handle various litigation matters, providing hands-on experience from case inception to resolution while collaborating with a diverse range of clients. The role offers opportunities for professional growth and mentorship within a supportive team environment.
Responsibilities:
- Handling a variety of litigation matters involving wrongful death, premises liability, personal injury, construction, breach of contract/business disputes, and more
- Managing every aspect of cases including legal strategy, research, drafting pleadings and motions, managing discovery, arguing motions in court, attending mediations, and trial
- Working with a diverse range of clients, including individuals, businesses, and organizations
Required Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in civil litigation in a law firm environment
- Skilled in conducting legal research, drafting pleadings and motions, propounding and responding to discovery, as well as interfacing directly with clients and opposing counsel
- Desire and/or ability to manage a caseload independently, while also working collaboratively with team members
- Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
- Admission to the State Bar of California
- Exceptional communication and advocacy skills along with a client-focused mindset and a passion for achieving successful outcomes
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience taking and defending depositions, arguing motions and attending mediations
- Trial experience is a plus!
