Design Coordinator - Major mixed-Use Development at Breagh… · Galway
ExperiencedOn-siteFull-timeGalway, County Galway70000 EUR–75000 EUR/yr
Job Description
Job title: Design Coordinator – Major Mixed-Use Development
Location: Galway City, Co Galway
Company: Tier 1 Irish Main Contractor
Package: €70,000 to €75,000 DOE + fully expensed company vehicle, fuel & tolls, 26 days annual leave, 7.5% employer pension contribution, life cover, PHI + additional benefits
The Company
A leading Tier 1 Irish Main Contractor is looking to appoint an experienced Design Coordinator to join the project team on a major mixed-use development in Galway City.
The project combines multi-storey residential, commercial, hospitality and retail elements, creating a technically demanding build with significant coordination required between architectural, structural, M&E and specialist subcontractor packages.
The Role: Design Coordinator
As Design Coordinator, you’ll form part of the core Project Delivery Team, working closely with the Design Manager, Project Manager, Quantity Surveyor, consultants and subcontractors.
You’ll coordinate the production and release of design information, making sure it is fully coordinated, compliant, buildable, within budget and delivered in line with the construction and procurement programmes.
This is a hands-on role requiring someone who can drive consultants, manage design actions and identify technical or buildability issues before they affect progress on site.
Must Have Requirements
You’ll be an experienced Design Coordinator who understands how design impacts construction programme, procurement, cost and buildability.
You’ll be comfortable dealing directly with Architects, Engineers, consultants and specialist subcontractors, with the technical knowledge and communication skills to challenge information, drive decisions and get design issues closed out.
You’ll also need to be organised and commercially aware, with the ability to work independently while knowing when an issue needs to be escalated to the Design Manager.
What’s on Offer
Salary: €70,000 to €75,000 DOE
Benefits:
This is a strong opportunity to take on a substantial Design Coordinator role on a major Galway development rather than simply managing drawings and RFIs.
You’ll have real involvement in design delivery, consultant coordination, buildability and programme while working alongside an experienced project team, with good scope to progress further within design management.
