Job Description
Summary: Boston Partners is a global investment advisor with a longstanding reputation for superior client service. They are seeking an Investment Research Systems Analyst to join their Quantitative Research team, focusing on maintaining and enhancing their proprietary equity investment database while collaborating with investment management teams.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate data for our proprietary equity investment database
- Design to expand and enhance database structure for new data sets
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve system and data-related issues as they arise
- Serve as a backup for database and web administrative responsibilities, ensuring continuity of operations when needed
- Ability to take on both business/systems analyst and implementation responsibilities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Enhance and expand internal website functionality using modern web technologies
- Collaborate with information security team to identify and remediate software vulnerabilities
Required Qualifications:
- 1-5 years of professional experience is required, with strong preference for the Finance industry
- Computer science or data science degree required
- Must be eager and adaptable, with the ability to quickly learn new technologies and financial concepts through mentorship or independent study
- Hands-on experience with one or more programming languages (C#, Python, JavaScript, SQL) is required
- Proficiency in Windows environments, including hands-on experience with Windows servers is required
- Vision-DBMS programming experience is highly valued
- Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States, as Boston Partners does not provide visa sponsorship for this role
- Position is fully in-office (no remote or hybrid option)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Knowledge of investment-related concepts and practices is strongly preferred
- Experience working with object-oriented concepts and object-oriented databases is strongly preferred
- CFA charter holder or candidate is a plus
- Exposure to web and scripting technologies (HTML, XSLT, CSS, XML, Classic ASP, Java, Perl, VBA) preferred
- Experience crafting effective AI prompts and a practical understanding of how large language models respond to instructions is a plus
