Job Description
Summary: BorgWarner is a global product leader in delivering innovative and sustainable mobility solutions. The Electronics Hardware Design Intern will support engineers in designing, characterizing, and testing automotive power conversion products, while gaining experience in the power electronics field.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the electrical design, simulation and analysis of power electronics circuits and systems to meet technical product requirements
- Perform the electrical debug, test, characterization, and verification of power electronics designs
- Assist in specifying, identifying, and testing of key, critical electrical components
- Support BorgWarner product development team with technical design analysis, trade off studies, and design reviews
- Gain understanding of the vehicle system components and functions that interface to the power electronics subsystem
- Work with other engineering competencies and suppliers to aid in the development and verification of electronics products
- Use a broad range of electronic lab equipment to build, analyse, test, and verify designs functionally. Examples of tests are Embedded controller verification
- Power Electronics efficiency, static and dynamic performance
- Thermal test bench
- Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC)
Required Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited college, university, or be a graduate from an accredited college
- GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale, or B average, upon initial hire date
- Candidate needs to have a strong interest in the automotive and / or power electronics field
- Knowledge of modelling, simulating, and/or circuit design required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in Power Electronics is preferred through one of the following organizations, research programs, internships
