Job Description
Summary: Boeing is a leading aerospace company dedicated to innovation and collaboration. They are currently seeking an Associate Software Engineer to support the Phantom Works team, focusing on developing software capabilities for tactical fighter aircraft within the Boeing Defense, Space & Security business organization.
Responsibilities:
- Assist with design, development, and implementation of various mission systems software capabilities, models and simulations (sensors, weapons, etc.)
- Assist in use case and requirements development of software requirements
- Develop test cases and unit tests for software in parallel with development of new functionality
- Document test results
- Participate in peer reviews
- Work with more senior engineers on software architecture design and definition
- Operate on a multi-skill agile development team that is responsible for requirements, design, development, testing, and support of advanced mission systems software solutions
Required Qualifications:
- 1+ years of experience in software development life cycles, configuration management and best agile software engineering practices
- 1+ years of experience with software development processes such as requirements, software design, documentation and configuration control
- Experience with CI/CD environments and tools such as Jenkins or Gitlab
- 1+ years of experience programming in C or C++
- This position must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements. To meet U.S. export control compliance requirements, a 'U.S. Person' as defined by 22 C.F.R. 120.62 is required. 'U.S. Person' includes U.S. Citizen, U.S. National, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee
- This position requires the ability to obtain a U.S. Security Clearance for which the U.S. Government requires U.S. Citizenship. An interim and/or final U.S. Secret Clearance Post-Start is required
Preferred Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science degree from an accredited course of study in engineering, engineering technology (includes manufacturing engineering technology), chemistry, physics, mathematics, data science, or computer science
- An active U.S. Security Clearance
- Experience working in Agile software development environment
- Aircraft Mission Systems experience
- Aircraft Datalink or sensor experience
- Modeling and simulation experience
