Summary: Millennium Space Systems, a part of Boeing Defense, Space and Security, is a fast, agile small satellite company focused on national security space. The intern will work on mechanical ground support equipment designs, supporting senior engineers and participating in the design and analysis of various fixtures and tools. Responsibilities: - Own designs, drafting and analysis of several MGSE fixtures, such as: ENV test plates, support stands, proof load test equipment & shop aid - Support senior engineers with their tasks of MGSE design, drafting, and first order analysis - Support process plans and procedures to ensure their designs are used as intended - Create chart packages and participate in review meetings for their MGSE designs to get buyoff from stakeholders Required Qualifications: - Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering Major - Experience working with CAD software; ie Solidworks, Creo, Catia, etc - Familiarity with machine shop operations- Lathes, mills, etc - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal - Strong mechanical engineering fundamentals, knowledge of satellite hardware, and qualification methods Preferred Qualifications: - Strong academic performance (preferred GPA of 3.0 or above) - Exceptional organizational and collaboration skills as demonstrated through leadership positions on teams and/or in student or civic organizations - Strong technical experiences as demonstrated through technical projects, research or engineering internships - Exceptional communication skills and interest and enthusiasm related to engineering, aerospace and a career with Boeing - Junior or Senior class standing Required Skills: Mechanical Engineering, CAD Software, Machine Shop Operations Important Skills: Satellite Hardware Knowledge Nice-to-Have Skills: Interpersonal Skills, Communication Skills, Organizational Skills, Collaboration Skills Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: Health insurance, Flexible spending accounts, Health savings accounts, Retirement savings plans, Life and disability insurance programs, Programs that provide for both paid and unpaid time away from work
