Job Description
Summary: BNE Real Estate Group is hiring a full-time Maintenance Associate to keep their Union and Garwood, NJ properties clean, safe, and presentable. This role supports the daily property appearance and helps the maintenance team complete assigned tasks once cleaning is completed.
Responsibilities:
- Maintain the upkeep of grounds, amenities, building exteriors and leasing office, parking lots and other common areas
- Police front, back and side of building, including all entranceways; remove pet waste and litter around trees and planters
- Remove litter from courtyards and breezeways
- Remove trash from office areas, common areas and apartment community exterior daily
- Wash, clean and sanitize all wash basins, sinks, waste receptacles, restrooms, tiled walls and trash chutes
- Thoroughly clean, wash and dust glass, mirrors, shelving, fixtures, elevators, floors, rugs, carpeting, baseboards, saddles, and stairwells
- Fill all paper and soap dispensers
- Polish elevator tracks, all mirrors, dispensers and fixtures
- Shampoo carpets
- Assist in the preparation of make ready units, including removing trash, cleaning and painting
- Remove and replace all blown light bulbs
- Clean available apartments and or models
- Assist in painting available apartments and common areas
- Assist maintenance team with snow removal and landscaping
- Clear local waste lines and drain stoppages
- Clean filters for HVAC
- Check and report leaks, damage, debris and security issues
- Report any maintenance concerns for repairs on available apartments, models, amenity spaces, and/or common areas to the Maintenance Manager/Property Manager
- Assist management with other projects, as requested and required
- Maintain excellent customer service with the residents and building staff
- If required, participate in the emergency on-call program
- Learn and ensure compliance with all company, local, state and federal safety rules
- Ensure that unsafe conditions are corrected in a timely manner
- Follow a "safety first" principle
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Relative experience in property management and or other Porter/Cleaning experience
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Well organized with excellent time management skills
- Maintain regular and punctual attendance
- Work overtime hours as required to complete assignments/projects
- Work in cold/hot/dusty/loud environment
- Comply with all company policies and procedures
