Job Description
Summary: Blue Nile is an innovative technology company providing e-commerce and supply chain platforms for the diamond industry. They are seeking an Intern responsible for manufacturing excellence documentation and supporting the development of training documents and specifications for core products.
Responsibilities:
- Organize and maintain structured filing systems for training documents, SOPs, and QC materials to ensure accessibility, consistency, and version control
- Support preparation and standardization of QC training documentation, including tolerance guidelines, defect definitions, and onboarding materials aligned with workflows
- Develop and maintain SOPs for manufacturing, QC, and production, ensuring alignment with operational practices and consistency across teams
- Create, organize, and maintain a detailed CAD-based specification library for core products
- Develop and refine technical specifications for production and quality control use purposes
- Translate current production files into clear, accurate technical specifications and documentation
- Ensure all specifications meet internal standards and quality requirements
- Collaborate with CAD, Quality and Production teams to validate specifications and ensure they meet the required use cases
- Communicates progress, issues, and needs clearly and proactively
Required Qualifications:
- Graphic design proficiency
- 3D design proficiency
- CAD proficiency
- Ability to layout visual training documents
- Ability to translate designs into clear technical documentation
- Excellent communication skills
- Experience using CANVA software
- Experience with Office 360 suite
- Familiarity with preparing presentations for training
- Hands-on experience using CAD software (Preferably Matrix, Rhino, or similar)
- Familiarity with the concept of specifications for production and quality use
- Strong understanding of technical drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and materials
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- High level of organization and attention to detail
- Ability to work independently, responsibly, and with a sense of urgency
- Comfortable managing multiple tasks and meeting deadlines
- Currently enrolled in or recently graduated from a related program (e.g., Jewelry fabrication, Industrial Design, Engineering, Architecture, or related field)
