Location: Site-Based at the Springer Mine & Milling Complex in Imlay, Nevada

Reports to: Health, Safety & Security Manager
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Site Mine Rescue Coordinator to lead our Mine Rescue initiatives at our Springer Mine in Imlay, Nevada. The candidate must have 10 years of proven experience in underground mining and mine rescue experience. Additionally, the candidate must hold an MSHA Blue Card with a Mine Rescue certification.
This role is responsible for ensuring MSHA 30 CFR Part 49 compliance, compliance with all relevant Blue Moon Metals (BMM) health, safety & security procedures, and regulatory requirements. The position requires taking a lead role in maintaining a of state of readiness with all aspects of mine rescue, providing a learning environment for mine rescue team members and fostering a culture of safety, that and minimizes risks to personnel. Additionally, this role requires direct integration with site security for incident command including coordination with local emergency response, law enforcement, and regional mine rescue teams.
This position will initially report directly to the Springer Health, Safety & Security Manager with the potential of increased responsibility and advancement
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain the site's mine rescue and emergency response program.
- Ensure compliance with applicable MSHA regulations, company standards, and industry best practices.
- Coordinate mine rescue team membership, readiness, and equipment maintenance.
- Maintain required mine rescue certifications and documentation for all members of the team.
- Develop and update Emergency Response Plans (ERPs).
- Conduct risk assessments and emergency preparedness evaluations.
- Coordinate emergency drills, mock rescue scenarios, and tabletop exercises.
- Ensure emergency communication systems are operational and tested.
- Schedule and oversee mine rescue training exercises.
- Ensure team members meet annual training requirements.
- Coordinate specialized training involving:
- Mine fires
- Ground control emergencies
- Confined space rescue
- Rope rescue
- Medical response and first aid
- Hazardous materials response
- Evaluate rescue team performance and competency.
- Provide emergency response leadership
- Manage mine rescue equipment inventories.
- Conduct inspections and maintenance of:
- Breathing apparatus
- Gas detection equipment
- Rescue vehicles
- Medical supplies
- Communication systems
- Ensure emergency supplies meet operational readiness requirements.
- This position must be prepared to assist with health, safety & security matters upon request.
Qualifications & Experience
- Must be an MSHA certified Mine Rescue Trainer.
- Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in underground mining and mine rescue experience.
- Strong working knowledge of all applicable MSHA 30 CFR requirements or the ability to quickly be come familiar with applicable regulations.
- Must be familiar with mine rescue equipment.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- A strong working knowledge of Health & Safety Management systems.
- Valid driver's license.
Working Conditions
- This position is based on the Springer Mine, near Imlay Nevada.
- Must be available for immediate callouts during emergencies.
