Financial Products Communications… at Bloomberg · New York…
Job Description
Bloomberg’s communications and external relations teams create the connections that drive business. We shape and communicate the messages that are critical to growing business, educating the public and investors and maintaining transparency in the marketplace.
Bloomberg is looking for a highly collaborative and motivated individual to join the Data and Technology Products Communications team supporting Bloomberg’s growing Enterprise Data business.
Reporting into the team's leadership, you will be an adviser to business leaders and be responsible for the communications strategy and execution behind how Bloomberg's Enterprise Data narrative reaches the media, analysts, and the broader financial community. This is a role for someone who enjoys every part of the process, from setting strategy to directing execution, and who is comfortable translating that work into tangible outcomes.
The successful candidate must thrive in an environment where they are expected to handle multiple tasks concurrently, be highly proactive, extremely organized, creative in solving problems, have a strong understanding of AI tools, and be diplomatic and communicative in working with others.
We’ll trust you to:
•Identify and develop compelling forward-looking stories that describe Bloomberg's role in shaping the future of financial data, technology, AI and market innovation.
•Help translate the complexity of Bloomberg's solutions – including emerging data and AI capabilities – into pitches, press releases and content that reiterates Bloomberg as a leading provider of financial technology solutions.
•Own stakeholder relationships across internal leadership to provide strong support and partnership from communications.
•Build, maintain and own relationships with priority media, industry analysts and other relevant stakeholders and set the strategy for outreach including briefings and proactive pitches.
•Compile and distribute ad-hoc coverage reports, weekly newsletters and more for stakeholder and management committee presentations.
•Produce and maintain internal and external communications assets including executive bios, briefing documents, byline content, press releases and presentations
•Help manage agency relationships and support accountability
•Lead analyst relations program for the data business including scheduling strategic inquiries and briefings and securing research assets that validate product and go to market strategy.
•Develop and deliver reporting metrics, including working with cross-functional teams, monitoring vendors, and PR agencies to pull report metrics and coverage data for communications campaigns.
•Manage and maintain Communications calendars and media/analyst lists to proactively identify story opportunities.
•Partner with global Communications and Marketing team members on the execution of strategic cross-business initiatives and programs – both internal and external.
•Identify gaps in current communications practice and set new standards for the team.
We’d love to see:
•At least four-seven years of communications/public relations experience in-house or at an agency.
•Previous experience working with a financial firm or technology company that serves the financial sector is preferred.
•Track record of owning stakeholder relationships and setting strategy, not just executing programs.
•Familiarity with the media outlets, reporters, social media influencers and industry analysts that cover the intersection of technology and finance.
•Experience contributing to global media strategies, building message frameworks, creating content and pitching stories.
•Strategic thinker with deep analytical capabilities and a history of using data to solve problems.
•Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills, with executive presence.
•A healthy balance of collaboration, cooperation and autonomy.
