Job Description
Summary: Blackbird Labs is a loyalty and payments platform focused on connecting restaurants with their customers. The Junior Analyst role involves financial modeling and analysis to support strategic decisions, working closely with the CEO and senior leadership.
Responsibilities:
- Build, maintain, and iterate on financial models that project the future state of Blackbird’s business across multiple scenarios (growth, market expansion, product launches)
- Develop unit economics models for Blackbird’s transaction network (Flynet), restaurant memberships, and Blackbird Club loyalty program
- Analyze market data and industry trends in the U.S. restaurant economy to identify opportunities and inform strategic priorities
- Prepare investor-ready materials, board presentations, and internal memos that translate complex analysis into clear narratives
- Partner with the Product, Sales, and Operations teams to pressure-test assumptions and validate growth levers
- Support fundraising and partnership conversations with data-driven insights and scenario analysis
Required Qualifications:
- 2–3 years of experience in investment banking, private equity, venture capital, corporate finance, or management consulting. Internship experience at the right caliber also qualifies
- Strong proficiency in financial modeling, including DCF, LBO, scenario/sensitivity analysis, and three-statement models
- Exceptional Excel/Google Sheets skills
- Comfort with AI tools, SQL, and data visualization tools (Tableau, Looker)
- Ability to work with ambiguity and build models from limited data, we are a growth-stage company, not a mature enterprise
- Strong written and verbal communication skills. You will present to the CEO and the board
- Passion for restaurants, hospitality, and/or the future of commerce and loyalty
- Based in New York City. This is an on-site role
