Summary: BKF Engineers is a multi-service infrastructure consulting firm providing civil engineering and surveying services. As a Summer Intern on BKF's Finance and Accounting team, you will support the firm's financial operations while gaining hands-on experience in a dynamic consulting environment. Responsibilities: - Assist with accounts payable and receivable processes, including invoice processing, vendor communication, and payment reconciliation - Perform daily bank reconciliation - Assist with the company's EFT payment campaign for vendors and EFT/lockbox payment or campaign for clients - Assist with collection efforts - Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts - Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements - Conduct data entry and maintenance of financial records in accordance with established procedures - Assist with internal and external audit activities, including gathering supporting documentation and responding to inquiries - Assist with project setups in company ERP system, Deltek Vantagepoint - Participate in special projects as assigned, such as process improvement or system implementations - Collaborate with team members to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial data and reports Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - Strong attention to detail and accuracy of work output - Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software is a plus - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment - Enthusiasm for learning and willingness to take on new challenges Preferred Qualifications: - Previous internship or relevant work experience is preferred but not required Required Skills: Accounting, Financial analysis, Microsoft Excel Important Skills: Accounting software Nice-to-Have Skills: Enthusiasm for learning Internship Start Date: Start in 2026 Summer Benefits: Enjoy tasty snacks and drinks every day, plus weekly office meals, Join a workplace committed to diversity, equity, and inclusion, Benefit from unlimited training opportunities and our SPARK mentorship program, Experience a vibrant company culture with engaging events and activities, Get involved in Employee Resource Groups for a welcoming atmosphere for all
