The Director, Supply Chain is responsible for establishing and executing supply chain and purchasing strategy by directing all functions in supply chain from raw material procurement, purchasing cycles, inventory control, shipping, and customer receipt of product by facilitating achievement of the company’s goals and objectives. This includes ERP, manufacturing planning, warehousing, and distribution, as well as the sourcing of direct and R&D materials for the manufacturing lines, and oversight of the negotiation and management of key supplier contracts in conjunction with company legal counsel. The Director, Supply Chain, will also work to establish Quality agreements, through collaborations with the Defense Quality Assurance department.
The overall responsibility is to ensure an uninterrupted, high-quality, and cost-effective supply of materials to internal and external customers, while developing, maintaining, and improving policies and procedures for mitigating supplier risk and managing sourcing activities.
The primary scope is to support BioFire Defense supply chain, purchasing functions, and logistics, but this role must consider how to interface with bioMérieux Global Supply Chain to develop key industry relationships and to leverage pricing and costing advantages from the parent company. This position will also apply coherent solutions and work within the company’s quality and regulatory procedures and processes. In this role, the Director, Supply Chain, will also be responsible for oversight and investigations into NCR’s and CAPA’s that are relative to the supply chain cycle. This position will drive lean and continuous improvement initiatives and support capacity planning and production scaling and make data-drive decisions using and developing department metrics. The Director, Supply Chain, will actively pursue ways to improve efficiency and reduce scrap. This position is responsible for the coordination and execution of Defense S&OP and MRB meetings and will be the primary interface for both internal and external Quality audits.
This role will be responsible for establishing and controlling raw material safety stocks, scheduling all manufacturing events, and performance of cycle counting, year-end inventory activities, and inventory control of raw materials, VMI, and finished goods.
