Senior Analytics Engineer at Bevi in Boston, MA

Summary: Bevi is on a mission to transform how beverages are delivered and consumed, and they are seeking a Senior Analytics Engineer to lead their Data & Analytics team. This role involves designing and building data architecture, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and providing technical leadership to drive data solutions. Responsibilities: - Design and build best-in-class reliable, scalable, and performant data architecture and data flows to support the democratization of data, analytics, AI, and ML initiatives - Partner with cross-functional teams such as Software, Hardware, Product, and Operations to translate complex data needs into robust, production-ready solutions - Identify, recommend, and implement the right tech stack to support streaming data - at scale - that integrates into our existing tech stack: FiveTran, Snowflake, DBT, Looker - Own data ingestion, modeling, transformation, and orchestration for key data assets including IOT: machine sensors, digital UI interactions, and beverage consumption - Define and enforce best practices for privacy, governance, and security to enable teams at all levels of data maturity to effectively leverage the platform - Collaborate with Analytics and Data Science team members to enable advanced analytics, experimentation, and AI/ML modeling - Provide technical leadership to engineers across the Data & Analytics organization - Stay current with emerging data technologies and recommend strategic improvements to the data platform Required Qualifications: - Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or similar - 4-8 years of experience in data, data engineering, analytics engineering, or ML engineering - Expert in streaming and batch IOT data pipelines for large-scale, real-time systems (eg Kafka, Spark, Influx) - Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms and modern engineering tools (eg FiveTran, Snowflake, DBT) - Strong skills in SQL, Python, and building reliable, automated data workflows - Deep understanding of data modeling, ETL/ELT, and analytics pipeline design for self-service data, analytics, and AI/ML applications - Experience ensuring data quality, governance, and observability across pipelines - Experience with data visualization tools and building the data models behind the scenes (eg Looker, PowerBI, Hex, DataDog, Grafana) - Proven ability to translate complex stakeholder needs into scalable, high-performance data solutions - Track record of mentoring engineers and driving innovation within high-performing data teams Preferred Qualifications: - Masters degree Required Skills: Data engineering, Analytics engineering, ML engineering, Streaming data pipelines Important Skills: SQL, Python, Data modeling, ETL/ELT, Data visualization tools Nice-to-Have Skills: Mentoring engineers, Innovation Benefits: Comprehensive medical, dental and vision insurance plans with BlueCross BlueShield, 95% paid by employer, 401(k) with company match, Flexible PTO plus 12 company holidays, and additional paid days for sick leave, etc, Generous fully paid parental leave for both birth parents and non-birth parents, Fully employer paid disability and life insurances, Wellness and fitness reimbursements, Monthly stipends for cell phone use and commuting costs, Onsite snacks, weekly catered lunch, and (of course) unlimited Bevi ... plus composting and terra-cycling, too, Happy hours, team-building events, bagel breakfasts, Values awards - and more.
