Summary: Berkley Environmental is a company that focuses on providing customized risk solutions to its customers and brokers. They are seeking an Accounting and Finance Intern to assist with various aspects of accounting and financial reporting, including balance sheet reconciliations and month-end close procedures. Responsibilities: - Assist with the preparation of profit and loss statements, forecast models, and other financial reports - Preparation and analysis of supporting schedules for journal entries in a controlled and timely manner - Participate in the development and maintenance of a chart of accounts and general ledger as well as company accounting policy and administer approved accounting procedures - Assist in the create various financial analysis and present findings to managers and/or executives Required Qualifications: - Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field - Basic understanding of accounting principles and terms - Strong attention to detail and accuracy - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel - Good organizational and time management skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Excellent communication skills Preferred Qualifications: - Previous internship or work experience in accounting is a plus but not required Required Skills: Accounting principles, Financial reporting, US GAAP, Statutory accounting requirements, Balance sheet reconciliation, General ledger close, SOX compliance, Financial analysis, Microsoft Excel
