Hairdresser Wanted!

West View Care Home – Bere Alston

Self-Employed | Approximately 4–6 hours per week

We're looking for a lovely, friendly hairdresser to visit our home each week and help our residents look and feel their best!

All our residents are living with dementia, so we're looking for someone with a big heart, endless patience and a good sense of humour!

Hairdressing here is about much more than just washing, cutting and styling hair. It's about having a chat, sharing a laugh, building friendships and making someone feel special.

Our residents sometimes change their minds, need a little extra reassurance or decide halfway through that they've had quite enough! So, someone who is happy to go with the flow and take things at their own pace would fit in beautifully.

What we're looking for:

• A qualified, experienced hairdresser.
• A warm, kind and understanding personality.
• Plenty of patience and flexibility.
• A good sense of humour!
• An understanding of dementia, or a willingness to learn.

We follow the Butterfly Approach to dementia care, where kindness, individuality, fun and emotional wellbeing are at the heart of everything we do.

This is a self-employed opportunity, offering approximately 4–6 hours per week, with some flexibility around visiting times.
