Job Description
Summary: BeOne Medicines is a rapidly growing company focused on fighting cancer, and they are seeking a Quality Control Intern for their microbiology team. The role involves supporting laboratory activities, maintaining data integrity, and assisting with equipment management and documentation processes.
Responsibilities:
- Support laboratory housekeeping activities, including cleaning and sanitizing work areas and Waste handling per biosafety procedures
- Follow Good Documentation Practices (GDP) and data integrity standards, including 21 CFR Part 11
- Participate in training activities and demonstrate understanding of SOPs before performing tasks independently
- Assist with Laboratory Inventory check
- Prepare work instructions for operation & maintenance of laboratory equipment and other procedures, as needed
- Laboratory Data Management:
- File, scan, and archive laboratory records in accordance with document control procedures. Perform accurate data entry into electronic systems (e.g., LIMS, spreadsheets, or document repositories). Verify completeness and legibility of records prior to filing. Maintain organized electronic and hard copy filing systems to support audits and inspections. Ensure data integrity by following ALCOA+ principles (Attributable, Legible, Contemporaneous, Original, Accurate)
- Schedule calibration, qualification, and validation of laboratory equipment by qualified external service providers, as needed
- Undertake any other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
- Enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in bioengineering, biotechnology, or sciences (e.g., chemistry, biology, biochemistry, microbiology)
- Strong organizational skills
- Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving ability
- Hands-on approach, with a ‘can do' attitude
- Ability to prioritize, demonstrating good time management skills
- Excellent attention to detail, with the ability to work accurately in a busy and demanding environment
- Self-motivated, with the ability to work proactively using own initiative
- Committed to learning and development
- Strong PC literacy required; MS Office skills (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Ability to work on a computer for extended periods of time
