Benelogic LLC - Systems Integration Engineer at Benelogic in Remote

This is an early-career role. You'll work alongside senior integration engineers who will teach you the quirks of benefits data, how to navigate between carrier specs and real-life behavior, and what it takes to keep production integrations running.

OVERVIEW

The Systems Integration Engineer (SIE) is expected to perform successful data integrations based on a standardized approach that includes a solid technical design and implementation of best practices. The SIE extracts and assembles client and employee data to be transmitted to insurance carriers and back to the client. In addition, the SIE is responsible for creating and managing custom employer/employee data imports.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Follow Benelogic software development / systems integration best practices and processes
• Participate in file specification reviews and seek clarification on any questions
• Apply appropriate technical designs
• Identify gaps in the data conversion from clients' systems to proprietary software
• Escalate concerns formally and in writing
• Test output to confirm process it working as expected
• Consider ripple effects specifically and broadly as coding changes are made
• Develop custom scripts in VB.net to produce files based on the client and vendor specifications
• Develop additional projects using C# and Python
• Document and maintain employer payroll and import specifications
• Manipulate data and extract differences utilizing SQL
• Create and manage ongoing custom employer data imports
• Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

• 1-2 years of software development experience using VB.net and C#
• 1-2 years of SQL experience
• 1-2 years Python experience preferred
• Systems integration experience preferred
• Familiarity with employee benefits preferred
• Ability to work independently
• Honest and direct – that’s the style
• Curiosity is a must
• Passion for learning new things to develop expertise
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
