Mechanical Design Engineer Intern at Belt Power, LLC in Marietta, GA

Summary: Belt Power is a full-service distributor and fabricator specializing in conveyor system solutions for the manufacturing and material handling industries. They are looking for a Mechanical Design Engineer Intern to support their Engineering Projects Department with product development, 3D design, and research. Responsibilities: - Create mechanical design solutions as directed by engineering team members or customers - Take ownership of new product development projects (from concept through drawing/package deliverables) - Partner with inside/outside sales to produce 3D models and 2D drawings for customer approval - Collaborate with engineering, account managers, and customers to create drawings for new parts - Reverse engineer products and design solutions - Create DXF files and 2D drawings for specialty belts and parts (for shop fabrication and CNC equipment) - Drive QC process standards to ensure finished products meet design requirements - Generate part numbers for new items and ensure integration into company systems - Accurately measure and create drawings from customer-provided physical parts - Use tools/equipment safely; follow all safety rules; maintain a neat work area; wear required PPE - Represent Belt Power professionally; perform other duties as assigned Required Qualifications: - Experience with 3D modeling and drawing generation - Working toward (or completed) a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Associate, or Mechanical Engineering Technology (MET) Associate - CAD experience in Fusion 360, Inventor, SolidWorks, or SolidEdge - Must be able to pass a drug and background screen Preferred Qualifications: - Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail - Excellent organization and prioritization skills - Ability to interpret and verify precise measurements (including using a tape measure) - Desire and ability to learn quickly, adapt, and take initiative - Reliability, integrity, teamwork, positive attitude, and a proactive mindset Required Skills: 3D modeling, Drawing generation, Fusion 360, Inventor, SolidWorks, SolidEdge, Mechanical aptitude, Measurement interpretation Benefits: Flexible schedule, Full-time career potential, Flexible hours compatible with school schedules, Opportunity for full-time career potential based on performance and business need
