Job Description
Summary: Bellwether is a global advisory firm that helps businesses solve their most complex challenges and enhance enterprise value. The Analyst, Debt will support the asset management team in managing a portfolio of commercial real estate debt investments, including conducting financial analyses and assisting with investment opportunities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist in the proactive monitoring and management of a portfolio of debt investments across various property types
- Review and analyze business plans, leasing activity and monthly property operating performance
- Perform market-level due diligence
- Maintain detailed and complex asset-level cash flow reforecasting models
- Organize investment level data on a monthly & quarterly reporting basis
- Once up to speed, oversee and train incoming analysts
- Evaluate and analyze potential new debt investments and assist with due diligence and execution of said investments
- Perform additional ad-hoc analysis as needed
- Assist with ongoing monitoring and evaluation of the performance of investments, execution of business plans, and sub-market fundamentals
- Summarize and present on portfolio performance to senior management
- Perform cash flow modeling, competitive property analysis, and market research analysis
Required Qualifications:
- A minimum of 1 years' relevant experience
- Demonstrated interest in commercial real estate analytics
- Bachelor's degree required
- Development and analysis of real estate-based financial models with a focus on multifamily, office, and industrial assets
- Ability to build out a complex financial model from scratch including waterfalls and various debt structures
- Property underwriting and advanced financial modeling and analytics
- Ability to understand and analyze loan documents, leases and management agreements
- Ability to perform responsibilities independently and proactively, solve problems, and improve processes and/or services
- Self-directed, takes initiative and responsibility, ensures completion of tasks
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong listening and interpersonal skills
- Highly effective at preparing and presenting information
- Acts with honesty and integrity and maintains confidentiality, adheres to company policies
- Promotes a collaborative and productive work environment
