Job Description
Overview
NASHVILLE, TN (LOCAL CANDIDATES PREFERRED) - A warm, active family in the Belle Meade area is seeking a FULL-TIME LIVE-OUT NANNY/HOUSE MANAGER to support their 6-year-old daughter and 4-year-old son. The oldest is in school full-time and the youngest is in school 5 days a week with a half day on Mondays, both with after-school activities. This is a great fit for a proactive, positive candidate who thrives on structure and clear communication.
Responsibilities include child care, school drop-off and pickups, driving to and from after-school activities, snack and some meal prep, keeping kids' essentials stocked (sunscreen, toothpaste, etc.), errands, grocery shopping, etc. The nanny will use the family's small SUV to transport the children. Screen time is limited and the family prefers active engagement and play over TV or tablets. The nanny should have a bias-for-action by taking initiative without needing the parents to direct every detail, and should be comfortable covering sick days since both parents work.
Schedule: Guaranteed 40 hours per week. Core childcare hours are Monday 11:30am-6pm, Tuesday through Thursday 1:30-6pm, and Friday 1:30-5pm, with responsibility for starting the bedtime routine, showers, and brushing teeth during the evening window and, ideally, some mornings to help get the kids to school. The family is open to a split schedule and flexible structure for the right candidate regarding the house management. Some family trips will require the nanny to be with the family, and occasional international travel is expected with notice, so a valid passport is needed. While infrequent, the family also seeks a candidate who is comfortable staying overnight with the children should both parents be traveling.
The family has a sweet hypoallergenic dog in the home. Light dog care may be needed, including occasional walks and feeding if the parents are unavailable, and overnight care of the dog when the nanny is staying with the children. Occasional openness to house-sitting with the dog during family travel is a bonus, though this would not be frequent.
Requirements: Up-to-date vaccinations required. A positive, flexible demeanor and strong communication skills are essential.
Compensation: $38+/hour gross via payroll, commensurate with experience. Includes industry-standard 10 PTO days, 5 sick days, and at least these paid holidays (Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, and New Year's Day). Labor Day and Memorial Day may be given off. Holiday flexibility can be discussed with individual candidates.
