What this role is all about:
The Senior Manager, Commercial Banking (Syndications) serves as a subject matter expert and strategic lead for Beem’s most complex syndicated credit transactions. Operating at the highest level of technical depth, the role is accountable for originating, structuring, and executing multi-lender deals; driving portfolio growth; and ensuring robust credit and risk governance across the syndications platform. The Senior Manager partners closely with a Credit Solutions Manager and orchestrates cross-functional execution to deliver superior member experiences and sustainable profitability. The role mentors and shares expertise across Commercial Relationship Managers and Business Advisors to strengthen interdependencies and cross-referral opportunities, amplifying Beem’s digital-first ambitions.
While we welcome applicants from across Canada, we will prioritize candidates located in British Columbia. However, as we are seeking a unique skill-set, we are open to remote candidates from out of province.
What you’ll do:
Strategic Syndication & Market Development
- Lead structuring, negotiation, and execution of syndicated loan agreements, ensuring alignment with Beem’s credit and risk framework.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and industry developments to identify new opportunities.
- Develop and execute business development strategies to expand Beem’s commercial lending presence.
- Represent Beem at industry conferences and networking events to build brand credibility.
- Maintain and grow a strong network with financial institutions, investors, and syndication partners to enhance deal flow and strategic collaboration.
Portfolio & Transaction Management
- Provide strategic oversight of a high-volume, complex portfolio of syndicated loans, ensuring optimal financial performance, rigorous compliance, and proactive risk mitigation to safeguard Beem’s interests and deliver sustainable growth.
- Coordinate seamless transaction execution by liaising with legal teams, credit officers, and relationship managers.
- Ensure compliance with documentation and regulatory requirements.
Relationship Management & Collaboration
- Build and maintain long-term relationships with borrowers, syndicate participants, and industry stakeholders.
- Act as a trusted financial advisor and subject matter expert, providing tailored solutions and high service standards.
Credit & Risk Oversight
- Lead advanced and thorough credit analysis and risk assessments for syndicated lending opportunities.
- Prepare and present detailed credit proposals, including financial modeling and risk mitigation strategies.
- Monitor portfolio risk exposure, identify early warning signals, and implement proactive risk management tactics.
Leadership & Team Development
- Provide and drive the strategic direction and oversight for the Syndications team, ensuring alignment with Beem’s vision and objectives.
- Build and lead a high-performing team through coaching, mentoring, and ongoing development.
- Promote a culture of collaboration and cross-referrals, ensuring seamless integration with Relationship Managers, Business Advisors, and other commercial teams to maximize business development opportunities.
- Develop clear goals, monitor performance, and provide regular feedback to support growth and accountability.
A little about your qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Business, Finance, Economics, or related field required.
- Minimum 7 years of experience in commercial banking with a focus on syndicated lending.
- Proven expertise in structuring, negotiating, and executing syndicated loan agreements.
- Strong background in credit analysis, risk assessment, and portfolio management.
- Demonstrated ability to build strategic relationships and drive business development.

- Compensation: The salary range for this position is $116,200 - 145,300, with pay based on your skills and experience, and performance bonuses tied to shared goals
