Job Description
- Loads, transports, unloads and assists in selecting all rigging tackle, according to weight and size of load to be moved.
- Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures such as beams, ceilings and gin pole booms, with bolts and clamps.
- Attaches loads with appropriate rigging tackle to crane hook.
- Gives directions to Crane Operator engaged in hoisting and moving loads to ensure safety of workers and material handlers, using hand signals, or radio communications.
- Assists Crane Operator in assembly and disassembly of cranes.
- Sets up braces and rigs hoisting equipment, using hand tools and power wrenches.
- May direct workers engaged in hoisting of machinery and equipment in ships, railroad cars or trucks, piperacks, laydown yards, structures, compressor decks.
- Loads, transports and unloads materials, tools, equipment and supplies.
- Cleans and maintains tools, equipment and work area and restock supplies and materials as necessary. 10.Performs minor maintenance or cleaning activities on tools and equipment.
- Plans and coordinates movement of cranes and set up. Air tugger placement and securement, fiar leads for hoist lines.
- Adheres to all safety procedures.
- Typically requires 48 months of industrial construction experience.
