Job Description
Summary: BBS Automation is a company with over 60 years of experience in delivering scalable automation systems. They are seeking a Summer intern who is a self-starter and detail-oriented, to support technical assessments, develop proposals, and assist engineering project teams on custom automation projects.
Responsibilities:
- Support the departmental efforts quoting custom designed automated assembly equipment
- Support or lead special projects for engineering, sales, and marketing
- 3D printing, Assembly/Robotic/3D/VR simulations as needed
- May cross train in Mechanical Engineering department to utilize Solidworks standard assets and develop concepts and layouts for proposals and assist other Applications Engineers
- May cross train in Supply Chain for Tech buyer support
- May cross train in Controls Engineering for Mechatronics or I/O commissioning support as needed
- Requires solid technical assessment and presentation skills, able to communicate effectively with internal and external customers and stakeholders
- Maintain International Standardization Organization ISO13485 standards
- Other duties as assigned
- Assisting With The Following Projects
- 3D simulations
- 3D Modeling & printing of prototypes
- Update Jobs List (2024, 2025, 2026)
- Update system summaries & media assets (marketing)
- Support Tolerance stack up & cpk evaluations
- Mechanical Engineering exposure
- Hands-On machine shop exposure
Required Qualifications:
- Passionate about automation
- Self-starter, curious and detail oriented
- Support and perform a wide variety of technical assessments of Customers' requirements for quotation activities
- Review design, performance and overall systems requirements and functional data with the engineering group
- Support the development and help prepare detailed proposals for potential and existing accounts/customers
- Capable of assisting engineering project teams of custom automation projects, including system 3D concepting and simulations, commissioning, debug, or redlining of custom automation equipment
- Support the departmental efforts quoting custom designed automated assembly equipment
