Job Description
Summary: Baxter International Inc. is committed to redefining healthcare delivery and is seeking an Inventory Specialist to manage and maintain accurate inventory levels within their warehouse and production areas. The role involves receiving, inspecting, and documenting inventory while ensuring compliance with company policies and optimizing inventory management processes.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain accurate inventory levels of medical equipment, including raw materials, work-in-progress, and finished goods
- Execute and confirm transfer orders
- Physically moving parts as necessary to ensure system accuracy to reality
- Receive and inspect incoming inventory to assess its condition and verify quantities against purchase orders
- Update inventory management systems to reflect stock movements, including receipts, transfers, and adjustments
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
- Implement and maintain inventory control systems, including inventory tracking software, to ensure accurate and up-to-date inventory levels
- Moving to quality hold and MRB when product is on a hold
- Moving back to inventory when product is released
- Conduct regular cycle counts and physical inventory audits to ensure accuracy and identify discrepancies
- Perform daily cycle counts in potentially multiple ERPs
- Perform ad hoc cycle counts as needed by members of the Supply Chain team
- Report out daily cycle count accuracy and work with the team to troubleshoot root causes
- Conduct regular inventory analysis to identify trends, optimize inventory levels, and minimize waste
- Generate and analyze reports to provide insights into inventory levels, trends, and performance
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, such as FDA guidelines, and company policies and procedures
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing, quality, and logistics, to ensure smooth inventory management and delivery of medical equipment
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to address any challenges or issues related to inventory control
- Participate in team meetings and training sessions to stay updated on company policies and procedures
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely and efficient delivery of medical equipment and raw materials
- Foster effective communication between various departments including Production, Commercial, Procurement, and Quality, amongst others, to ensure alignment with production goals including (but not limited):
- Identify major inventory discrepancies, Part outages and Kanban thresholds
- Identify opportunities for process enhancements to improve inventory accuracy and efficiency
- Assist in the development and implementation of standard operating procedures (SOPs) for inventory management
- Use lean principles to drive continuous improvement initiatives within the inventory control process
- Proactively contributes to zero harm in the workplace for all employees by complying with legal and corporate (EHS) Environmental Health & Safety requirements, safe work practices, and EHS policies and procedures consistently
- Report all hazards, near misses and incidents as soon as practicable and participate in identifying actions to prevent harm from occurring to our people and/or our environment
- Employees at every level are responsible for quality (GMP), Good Manufacturing Processes and regulatory performance in the department to ensure quality program compliance
- Ensure compliance with government regulations, legal documents and safety and ethical standards, obtaining legal compliance training
Required Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in supply chain management, logistics, or a related field is preferred
- Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in inventory management, warehouse operations, or a related field
- Experience in the healthcare or manufacturing industry is highly desirable
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and develop solutions to optimize inventory levels
- Proficient in inventory management software and Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting
- Proficiency in inventory management software, such as ERP systems, and ability to learn new systems and technologies
- Flexibility in adjusting and adapting to shifting priorities and demands
- Independent working professional, highly organized, efficient, and self-motivated in a high paced, reactive, and ever-changing environment

Preferred Qualifications:
- Certification in inventory management: Such as Certified Professional in Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP) preferred
- MAS or SAP preferred
